About

Bronze wildlife sculptor Sally Amoore grew up in Kenya, Africa where she developed a deep passion for the natural world. She began her career using pastels before switching to clay and bronze, which she felt gave more range and depth to her work, allowing her to express the essence of her subjects with greater verisimilitude. Sally sculpts from life whenever possible and manages to capture the grace, strength and spirit of animals in their natural state. She frequently returns to Africa and has undertaken expeditions in Central Asia, the Himalayas and South America , amongst other journeys to observe animals in their natural habitat.

Sally’s younger son was severely wounded when he stepped on a homemade bomb in the Afghan province of Helmand while serving in the British army. Her bronze military sculptures are born out of this.
